About CDL School Scout
CDL School Scout helps future truck and bus drivers find CDL training they can actually use. Since 2022, federal entry-level driver training rules mean your training only counts if the school is on FMCSA's Training Provider Registry. We take the registry's public download, keep only locations that say they are open to the public, and organize them by state, city and the exact programs each location is registered to teach.
Where the data comes from
Listings come from the FMCSA Training Provider Registry's public "Download all Training Locations" file (data as of 11/3/2026). It is U.S. government data. We normalize capitalization and formatting and remove exact duplicates. We do not invent listings or ratings. Schools can claim their listing to correct or add details.
How we make money
The site is free to use. We may earn money from clearly labeled featured listings that schools pay for, from referrals when you ask schools for information, from affiliate links (always disclosed), and from advertising. Paid placement never changes a school's registry information, and featured spots are always labeled.
Not affiliated with the government
We are an independent site and are not part of FMCSA, the U.S. DOT or any state DMV. Confirm everything with the school and with the official registry.
